  • Two vie for seat in Wilson

    Two men — both new to the political arena — are running for the one four-year Village of Wilson trustee position today. The poll is open until 9 p.m. at the village hall.

    Steve Clark, a Democrat, is a life-long resident of the Village. He is a the owner/manager Clark Rigging in Lockport. Jerry Kadryna, Republican and Independent, has lived in the village for 18 years. He is the store manager of the IGA on Lake Street.

    Overcoming challenges and numerous accomplishments is what the graduating Class of 2011 is all about.
    The newest crop of local graduates has done it all, from winning athletic championships to earning millions in scholarships, to providing community service such as building homes for the needy. Some members of this class will have very bright futures, as students will attend schools such as Yale, Michigan State, Ohio State and the Rochester Institute of Technology.

  • Man drowns at harbor

    WILSON — The Niagara County Sheriff's Office is investigating a drowning of a Youngstown man at Wilson Harbor in the Village of Wilson before 10 a.m. Saturday.
    William J. Copping, 66, was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to the Erie County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.
