PENDLETON — St. Bonaventure University struck gold when it signed Lockport senior Emily Belfield to a softball scholarship.
Belfield, the Lady Lions' perennial all-star centerfielder, went 4-for-5 Friday with a triple, two doubles, four runs scored and two RBIs, leading visiting Lockport past Starpoint, 13-3, in a non-league softball game.
Also for head coach Julie Kwoka's 3-0 team, senior Danielle Donorovich was 3-for-5 with three doubles, three runs scored and a pair of RBIs, Shannon Krywin had two hits and two RBIs, and senior Patti Burdick and junior Allie Cavagnaro chipped in with two hits apiece.
Winning pitcher Kassidy McFall fanned 4, walked just one and scattered five hits.
NON-LEAGUE SOFTBALL
Oak-Ala 11, Barker 8
BARKER — Barker girls hit the ball well in a close loss Friday to Kendall in a non-league contest.
Allie Denny led head coach Shannon McCracken's Lady Raiders with three hits, including a home run and double.
Olivia Denny and Destiny Metzler added two hits each for Barker, while senior Dani Senior added two hits with a triple.

BARKER — Winning pitcher Alex Sutton hurled five styrong innings for visiting Kendall.
Eight errors hurt the Raiders.
Tyler Gregoire led Barker with a base hit that plated a run.
