It was a family-oriented finish to a family-oriented event recently at the Niagara-Orleans Country Club on Telegraph Road.
Newfane's Jerry Leibring, and his son, Eric Leibring; joined the sibling duo of Rob and Mike Carrier to place first in the Men's Division at the 17th annual Danny Memorial Golf Tournament.
The foursome finished with a card of 62 for the top spot in the division.
The runners-up, just one stroke back, were Gary Andrzejewski, Kevin Murry, Adam Brownsten and Corey Shaffer.
Three strokes back at 66 was the foursome of Jim Heidrich, Jim Heidrich, Jr., and Jamie Brown.
Rounding out the top four finishers in the Men's Division was John Ward, Mike Dudo and Cas Hoffman at 68.
“Everyone had a great time and the weather was terrific,” said NOCC owner and respected golf professional Dan Graney Sr.
The Couples Division winners recorded the lowest score on the day with a round of 61. The champions are Bill Graney, Lynn (Graney) Sumple from the prestigious Lockport Senior High School Class of 1979, Gary Sumple and South Bristol Street native Tod Main.
The runners-up in the Couples Division, two strokes back, were Dave Holtz, Bob Holtz, Dan Haines and Kim Haines.
In third place in the Couples Division with a round of 66 was the foursome of Doug Rademacher, Sue Rademacher, Rick Rogers and Bev Rogers.
Placing fourth on a match of cards with a 66 were Dean Lamb, Sharon (Budde) Lamb also from the LSHS Class of 1979, Scott Budde and Barb Budde.
Country Club
Mike Bieger and his guest, Mark Clement, placed first overall at the 58th Lockport Country Club Men's Invitational Golf Tournament on Sunday.
The winning duo recorded 79 points for the top spot.
Hugill Flight winners with a 56 were member Chris Hugill and guest Paul Coniglio.
Winning the DeLange Flight with a 61 were the eye master Paul DeLange and David Bandelin. The runners-up on a match cards were member Chris Boron and guest Nick Boron.
Garlock Flight winners at 55 were member Don White and guest Tom Labert. The runners-up at 55 on a match of cards were member Dave "Pooley" Poole and guest Joe Jack.
Winning the Johnson Flight with a 63 were member Mark Mahaney and guest Joe Vizzi. Murphy Flight winners with a 60 were member Jim Stephen and guest Randy Coleman.
Topping the Nodine Flight with a 60 were member Tom Weeks and guest Dennis Flanagan.
