GRAND ISLAND —
Lockport Little League’s 12-11-year-old Williamsport Tournament Team won the District 1 Championship last week with a 6-5 win over Orchard Park.
In the championship game, down 3-2, Lockport’s Nick Hamilton belted a clutch, bases-loaded double to drive in two runs .
Luke Pierce followed with a single, driving home two more to give Lockport a 6-3 lead.
Hamilton and Pierce each finished with two hits each for Lockport.
Winning pitcher Alex Licata struck out eight over 5 1/3 innings of work.
Lockport boasted a 6-0 record in the tournament, held in Grand Island. They also beat Grand Island 10-8, Mel Ott 3-2, Tonawanda 8-7 (8 innings), North Tonawanda 14-1 and Springville 4-2.
Other members of LLL all-star team are Derek Roman Jr., Andy Xapsos, Justin Heschke, Brad Schneider, Tyler Ribbeck, Patrick Miklinski, Zach Ciarfella, Ben Walters and John Wendt.
Lockport is coached by Derek Roman, assisted by Jeremy Ribbeck.

Red Wings 15, Hammerheads 7
Nick Hamilton led the winners with four hits, including a double. Andy Tyler added three hits with a three-bagger and two-bagger thrown in. Zach Dlugosz, Tyler Ribbeck and Tyler Jurek each had three hits for the winners.
Jurek and Dlugosz combined to fan 11 on the hill.
Ben Walters paced the Hammerheads with two hits.
Flying Squirrels 17, No Names 16
Chris Richardson led the winners with three hits, including a double. Brendon Whitford and Kirk Feeney also doubled and Patrick Flaherty had two hits.
Red Wings 19, Timber Rattlers 1
Nick Hamilton led the way again with four hits, including two home runs. Tyler Jurek added three singles.
Zach Dlugosz smacked a pair of two-baggers while Tyler Ribbeck and Andy Tyler added two hits apiece.
Dlugosz fanned seven and walked none in the final three frames.
Lugnuts 3, Hammerheads 2
Jonathan Patterson and Will Collins cracked two baggers for the winners. Brendan Hess had two hits and two RBIs.
Morgan Brader belted two hits for the Hammerheads.
Red Wings 11, Flying Squirrels 9
Zach Dlugosz had two hits, including a double, and finished with four RBIs for the winners.
Stephen Yaremo chipped in with three hits, including a two-bagger, and three RBIs,
Mike Daskavitz smashed a two-run double and Delaney Fragale also had a base hit.
Braden Whitford, Kirk Feeney and Chris Richardson doubled for the Squirrels.
Flying Squirrels 25, Hammerheads 10
Kirk Feeney did everything but run the concession stand, smacking four hits, including three doubles, good for five RBIs.
Patrick Flaherty added four singles for the Flying Squirrels. Joe Quirk had four hits with a double and Brenden Whitford chipped in with three hits, including a double.
Ethan Morgan and Maddox McGary doubled for the Hammerheads.
Red Wings 16, Clippers 7
Nick Hamilton and Zach Dlugosz each finished with four RBIs for the winners. Hamilton cracked four hits with two doubles and Dlugosz doubled.
Tyler Ribbeck had three hits, including two doubles, for the Red Wings.
Dylan Bowes had three hits for the Clippers. Rynier Clinton tripled.
Lugnuts 17, Clippers 12
Cameron Solotes had a big day with five RBIs on two doubles and a single. Ethan Ferrell added three hits and three RBIs for the Lugnuts.
Rynier Clinton doubled for the Clippers.
Red Wings 6, Hammerheads 4
Stephen Yaremo and Zach Dlugosz combined for eight Ks on the hill for the winners.
Mike Daskavitz had two doubles and Yaremo and Dlugosz helped their own cause with doubles.
Morgan Brader socked a double for the Hammerheads and Maddox McGary had two hits.
Lugnuts 7, Red Wings 3
Sean Costello fanned nine and Stephen DeCarlo fanned five for the winners.
Cameron Solotes crushed two hits.
Tyler Ribbeck had two hits for the Red Wings.
Lugnuts 11, No Names 4
Will Collins tripled for the winners. Matt Bernardi finished with four RBIs and Ethan Ferrell drove in three runs.
Hammerheads 13, Red Wings 5
Winning pitchers Morgan Brader and Ethan Morgan each had two strikeouts on the hill.
Zach Dlugosz fanned six for the Red Wings.
Hammerheads 11, Clippers 3
Maddox McGary belted three hits for the winners (3-6).
Dylan Bowes struck out three for the Clippers.
