GRAND LARCENY: Carl A. Mazyck, 77 Prospect St., was charged with third-degree grand larceny, first-degree falsifying business records and first-degree filing a false instrument Tuesday. According to state police, Mazyck received state unemployment benefits between July and October 2011 while he was gainfully employed. Mazyck is to be arraigned April 10 in City Court.

LARCENY: Sean A. Stubbs, 24, 84 Ransom St., was charged with three counts of petit larceny and three counts of criminal possession of stolen property Wednesday. Stubbs is accused of taking blank personal checks from a relative and cashing three of them, for $160 altogether, according to the police report. Stubbs turned himself in at police headquarters Wednesday morning.

Town of Lockport

GRAND LARCENY: A Wolcottsville man reported his dump truck was stolen from Com Truck repair shop, 6310 S. Transit Road, sometime between noon March 24 and noontime March 25. The 1990 Ford truck, gray with a black dump box and large wooden sides, could be started without keys, according to the Niagara County sheriff’s report; the owner had directed it be parked in front of the gate at Com, so he could retrieve it when repairs were done. The truck is valued at $2,000, the report said.

MISCHIEF: A Tonawanda resident reported her vehicle was keyed while parked at Niagara County Community College, Saunders Settlement Road, Monday afternoon. The victim said she drove into a parking spot just moments ahead of a newer Chevrolet Impala; and when she returned to her vehicle several hours later, found a note attached stating, “I hope it was worth it.” Then the victim noticed a large scratch on her vehicle, from front to back on the driver’s side. The sheriff’s report estimated damage at $500.

MISCHIEF: A North Tonawanda resident reported damage was done to his parents’ vehicle while it was parked at NCCC, Lot 4, Saunders Settlement Road, Monday afternoon. The driver’s-side mirror was knocked off of the 1997 Chevy Cavalier and dents were put into both driver’s-side doors, according to the sheriff’s report. Damage was estimated at $750.

Hartland

LARCENY: A property owner in the 2000 block of Hartland Road reported Monday that parts were removed from a dismantled bulldozer. The idler, a metal wheel, weighed several hundred pounds, the owner said; and the steering clutch, an approximately 1-foot-square metal cube, also was missing. The sheriff’s report made no estimate of the parts’ value. The owner could not state a time frame during which the items might have been stolen, the report said.
