MISSING PERSON: Police located a missing Olcott man Saturday who disappeared earlier in the day. According to the report, police responded to a missing person report at a Union Street residence. The missing man’s wife said they were visiting their daughter when her husband went for a walk. She said that she had tried to stop him because he suffers from level II Alzheimer’s, but was unable to. Family members searched the area, as did a K-9 unit, but he was not found on the initial search. He was later found near his residence, and police believe he received a ride from Lockport to Olcott.

ASSAULT: A Lockport man declined to file charges Saturday after he was injured at a Newfane bar. According to the report, Niagara County sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of a fight at Calhoun’s Pub. The victim has suffered a laceration on the back of his head, which he told the officers was caused by blow from a bar stool. He was transported to Eastern Niagara Hospital-Newfane and did not give information about who had struck him, although a bartender offered two possible suspects. No other injuries were reported.
