LOCKPORT — City of Lockport

n ASSAULT: Aaron R. Knowles, 24, 111 Cottage St., Apt. 31 was charged with second-degree assault, obstruction of governmental administration, resisting arrest and unlawful possession of marijuana Saturday. According to the report, Knowles was walking down the middle of Lagrange Street and ran away as the police drove toward him. During the chase, Knowles threw a plastic bag containing a large amount of change and various items on the ground. The officer tackled the 6-foot-3, 200-pound Knowles, who continued to resist. A green, leafy material was located in Knowles’ pants pocket that field-tested positive for marijuana. A tubular glass pipe was located during booking. The reporting officer sustained multiple cuts to both hands and legs as a result of subduing Knowles.

n HARASSMENT: Donald M. Shaver, 23, 279 N. Transit St. was charged with second-degree harassment Friday. The patrol responded to North Transit at 9:10 p.m. for a domestic incident. According to the victim, Shaver pushed her and hit her in the face after she tipped the pizza delivery man $5. Shaver was located and arrested near Green Street.

Ransomville

n IDENTITY THEFT: A Youngstown-Lockport Road woman reported Friday that when she tried to use her credit card Oct. 8, her card was denied. Her bank stated that there had been a suspicious transaction on her account for $346 from a Sprint location in Kansas. The woman did not authorize any purchase, and the bank has replaced her funds.

North Tonawanda

n DWI: Marc D. Smith, 34, 5902 Tonawanda Creek Road N., Pendleton, was charged at 1:36 a.m. Saturday with aggravated DWI, drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle and failure to yield following a traffic stop on Webster Street. Smith failed field sobriety tests and his blood alcohol content was measured at 0.21 percent following a breath test.
