BLOTTER: Police reports published Oct. 11, 2009


City of Lockport

• CHARGED: Joshua D. Cooney, 21, 111 Elmwood Ave. was charged with seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance Saturday. On Sept. 15, the patrol observed two men exchanging money and a black baggy on Green Street. Cooney walked away and was seen throwing a black baggy on the ground. The baggy contained three pink tablets which were sent for future testing. The pills tested positive for a controlled substance, benzylpiperazine. Cooney was picked up on an arrest package on Grand Street.

• DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Robert B. Bruckner, 35, 196 Park Ave., was charged with disorderly conduct Saturday. The patrol responded to North Transit at 12:47 a.m. in reference to a fight. According to the report, Bruckner was at the corner yelling obscenities and continued yelling when the police arrived. His actions caused a large number of people to gather.

• MARIJUANA: Richard E. Troupe Jr., 20, 6247 Bayview Station, Apt. 1, Newfane, was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and unlawful possession of marijuana Friday. At 11:30 a.m., the patrol observed a car with a suspended license on Transit Street. The police found a rolled up cigarette that contained marijuana, the report said.

Wheatfield

• BURGLARY: A neighbor of a Moyer Road resident reported that sometime Saturday, unknown people broke the east side window of his neighbor’s house. The home owner, who is incarcerated at the Niagara County Jail, was informed of the incident. A Panasonic five-disk stereo system valued at $500 was taken.

• HARASSMENT: At 2:49 a.m. Saturday, police responded to Niagara Falls Boulevard for a reported fight between two females at The Office Bar. Police encountered both females inside the bar and attempted to care for the injuries they suffered from each other. Both parties were extremely intoxicated, police said. One woman suffered facial swelling and some superficial cut marks on her chest. The other party sustained a bloody mouth and also had some cuts on her neck and chest.

Newfane

• MENACING: A Fuller Road man reported a road rage incident that occurred at 12:45 a.m. Saturday. The victim stated he was traveling north on Fuller Road when a vehicle was behind him with its high-beam lights on. The vehicle, which had a smashed-out window, passed him and then pulled over. Someone from inside the vehicle yelled an obscenity. The vehicle followed the Fuller Road man to his residence and the driver got out of the driver’s seat and approached him with a baseball bat, the report said. The suspect swung the bat at the man, striking him in the back and leg. The suspect tried to break a window out of a vehicle in the driveway, the report said. The victim reported that the suspect grabbed him by the throat and punched him in the face. The suspect began to walk towards his vehicle and struck another window, but it did not break. The victim called the police, who checked the area for the suspect but didn’t find anyone. The patrol forwarded the paperwork to the Town of Newfane Court for a warrant.
