Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — Newfane

DWI: Jeremy David Kwandrans, 33, 5490 East Shelby Road, Medina was charged with driving while intoxicated, speeding and driving on the shoulders of the road Tuesday. According to the report, Kwandrans was observed traveling 58 mph in a 40 mph zone on Ridge Road at 9:25 p.m. Kwandrans’ vehicle drove on the shoulder on Ridge Road near Lockport-Olcott Road. Kwandrans had glassy eyes, impaired speech and an odor of alcoholic beverages on his breath.  He failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody. The result of the breathalyzer test was 0.19 percent blood alcohol content. He is scheduled to appear at the Town of Newfane Court on Dec. 4.

GRAND LARCENY: A $5,000 gas furnace and copper pipe valued at $1,500 were reported stolen from a Moyer Road residence. The theft happened in the last year. The detached garage had been entered and its furnace, tampered with.
