BLOTTER: Police reports published Jan. 19

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Brianna R. Lilley, 16, 178 Green St. Apt. 2 was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief Friday. According to the report, Lilley came to a house on Park Avenue on Thursday and banged on the door and damaged property.

PETIT LARCENY: Heinrich Chevolet reported Wednesday that license plates were stolen from a Chevy Venture that was taken in as trade. The vehicle was parked in the back parking lot of the dealership.

MARIJUANA: Lisa Marie Barrett, 29, 2906 Coomer Road was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, aggravated unlicensed operation and improper signal Wednesday. According to the report, Barrett was stopped on McKee Street for failure to signal. Her license was suspended in September. Barrett was remanded to the custody of the Niagara County Jail in lieu of $250 police bail. She was found to have a glass pipe inside her purse. The pipe was packed with a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana.

GRAND LARCENY: A Tonawanda Creek resident reported she received a call from a man who claimed to be a lawyer representing her son who supposedly had been jailed. The man asked her to send two wire transfers of $1,840 each via Western Union for bail. The victim withdrew cash from her bank and sent one transfer for $1,840 at Rite Aid in Lockport. She went to Tops in Lockport to send the other payment of $1,840. She received another call telling her that the second transfer did not go through. She returned to Tops and the cashier informed her the transaction was successful. The woman began to suspect something was wrong. She called her son and learned he was not in jail. The matter was forwarded to the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
