City of Lockport

DWI: Stefan E. Belliveau, 38, 7947 Chestnut Ridge Road, Gasport, was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop. According to the report, Lockport Police observed Belliveau commit several vehicle and traffic violations on Summit Street. When stopped, they oberserved a strong odor of alcohol from Belliveau’s breath. He was administered some field sobriety tests but refused to do others. Belliveau, who was uncooperative in booking and therefore unable to be fingerprinted or photographed, is scheduled to appear Monday in City Court.

UNLICENSED OPERATION: Adam E. Reed, 22, 471 Hawley St. was charged Sunday with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to register a motorcycle after a traffic stop. According to the report, Lockport Police observed Reed fail to signal a left turn and then fail to stop at a stop sign. On investigation, police discovered that Reed had a suspended driver’s license and the motorcycle’s registration was expired. He is scheduled to appear Wednesday in City Court.

ACCIDENT: A 20-year-old woman who was unresponsive following a Rapids Road one-car crash was extricated from her vehicle by the Rapids Volunteer Fire Company using the jaws of life Sunday. According to the report, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report that a car had struck a pole in the Town of Lockport. The woman, whose condition and identity were not released Sunday, was transported to ECMC via Mercy Flight. An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
