Carolyn Dobbins Lange

BUFFALO — Carolyn D. Lange, of Lockport, NY, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 in Buffalo General Hospital. Born on July 3, 1927 in Lockport, she was the daughter of Howard H. and Almeda Thaler Dobbins. She was a 1949 graduate of Skidmore College and was an airline stewardess for Capitol Airlines. She married the late Mark I. Lange in 1951, raised her five children and in 1980, she went to work as a Clerk to the Board of Trustees and Treasurer of the Lockport Public Library, retiring in 1996. Carolyn was a member of First English Lutheran Church, NYS Chapter BR-PEO, Lockport Hospital Guild, Lockport College Woman's Club and former member of the Lockport Senior Citizens Center Board of Directors. She traveled extensively, was an avid reader and enjoyed playing bridge and knitting.

Predeceased by her husband, Mark I. Lange in 1981, she is survived by her children, Lisa C. Lange of Williamsville, Peter W. (Patty) Lange of FL, Brian H. (Casey) Lange of CT, Amy Lange Kenyon of Lockport, and Megan Lange Wiehe of TX; six grandchildren, Alexander, Ethan, Parker and Blakeley Lange, and Tyler and Whitney Kenyon; her siblings, Beth (Monroe) Ramage of FL and Howard H. (Rita) Dobbins, Jr. of Lockport; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Friday 4:00-8:00 PM at LANGE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 186 East Ave., Lockport, NY. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at First English Lutheran Church, 185 Locust St., Lockport, NY. Interment in Cold Spring Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church or Lockport Public Library.
