Robert "Bob" E. Lackner of Newfane, NY, husband of Lelia Henninger Lackner, entered into rest on Saturday, January 26, 2013 in Buffalo General Hospital. He was born in Buffalo, NY on May 19, 1935, the son of the late Edward and Rita Mooney Lackner.
During his younger years he was cared for and loved by his grandma, aunts, uncles and cousins in Allentown, PA. He married Lelia Henninger on October 30, 1954. Bob worked for NYSEG as a pipe fitter with the customer service van for 30 1/2 years, retiring in 1994. He moved to Newfane in 1954 from Middleport. Member of Olcott Bible Church. Bob enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and farming.
Father of Michael (Bonnie) Lackner of Glasgow, Montana, Craig (Lizzie) Lackner of Holley, NY and Lorie (Jeffry) Sutherly of Sidney, OH. Brother of Marilyn (Jim) Manchester of Middleport and Larry (Marcy) Lackner of Shelby, NY. Also survived by seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2670 Main St., Newfane, NY on TUESDAY from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held in Olcott Bible Church, 5601 Lake Road, Burt, NY 14028 on WEDNESDAY at 12 Noon. Burial will be in Hartland Central Cemetery. Luncheon to follow at the church hall. Memorials to Olcott Bible Church, PO Box 510, Olcott, NY 14126 and Mercy Flight would be appreciated by the family.
