Rosemary Bettino

NIAGARA FALLS — Rosemary (Yenzi) Bettino, 83, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away suddenly on Monday, January 7, 2013 in home. Rosemary was born on December 29, 1929 in Anita, PA, to the late Angeline (Villella) and John Yenzi. On May 28, 1955, the former   Rosemary Yenzi married Dominick "Mickey" Bettino in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.

Mrs. Bettino received her BS in Nursing from Niagara University and was a graduate of the Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of Buffalo. For several years, Mrs. Bettino worked as a Nurse Practitioner for the Niagara Falls School  District. She was a very devout Roman Catholic and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish, active president of the Legion of Mary Niagara County Curia of the Buffalo Diocese, a Eucharistic Minister, a minister to the sick of the parish, a member of the RCIA staff, a member of the Madonna Del Soccorso Society of Holy Family of Jesus Mary and Joseph Parish, the LaSalle Literary Guild, and a volunteer for American Red Cross for over 50 years. "Rosemary will be remembered for her many works of mercy."

Rosemary is survived by her husband of  57 years, Dominick G. "Mickey" Bettino of Niagara Falls, NY; a son, Thomas D. (Karen) Bettino of Hamburg, NY; two daughters, Annemarie C.  Bettino and Yvonne (John) Adams, both of Niagara Falls, NY; three brothers, James (late Carolyn) Yenzi, Ralph (Margaret) Yenzi, John (Althea) Yenzi; one sister, Suzanne Yenzi; an uncle, Tony Villella; a brother-in-law, Ed Borelli and several Godchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Bettino was predeceased by her parents; her step-mother, the late Irene (Williams) Yenzi; a brother, the late Frank Yenzi; three sisters, the late Rachel (Joe) Cardamone, late Lucille Yenzi, late Cecelia Borelli; and her aunts and uncles, the late Margaret (Joseph) Duganier and the late Rose (Antonio) Gualtieri.

The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday from 3-5 PM at the SPALLINO-AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY, and on Friday from 9:30-10:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Prince of Peace Site, 1055 N. Military Rd., Niagara Falls, where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Punxsutawney, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Rosemary's memory to Our Lady's Rosary Makers, c/o 8414 Munson Ave., Niagara Falls, NY 14304; or Big Brothers Big Sisters of Niagara Co., 86 Park Ave., Lockport, NY 14094.
