Robert T. Platt

CAMBRIA — Robert T. Platt, of Cambria, NY, formerly of Newfane, NY, husband of Ruth Platt entered into rest on Monday, May 21, 2012 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport, NY. He was born in Lewiston, NY on March 22, 1928, the son of the late Albert Platt and Melvina Nebrich Platt.

Robert was a US Army veteran who served his country in the Korean War 1950-1952. He worked for Laborer's Union #91 Niagara Falls, NY, for many years. Robert and Ruth moved to Cambria in 1959 from Newfane, NY, enjoyed euchre playing and stock-car racing, especially NASCAR.

Father of Timothy Platt of Lima, NY, Judianne (David) Lewis of Bloomfield, NY, Jeffrey Platt, Thomas Platt, both of Lockport and Kris (Janet) Platt of Brunswick, OH. Grandfather of Heidi Lewis, Kyle, Sarah, Melanie and Deanna Platt. Brother of Albert (Mary) Platt, Paul (Linda) Platt, both of Appleton, NY, Norma Schwatz of North Tonawanda, NY and the late John Platt and Melvina Murray. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2670 Main St., Newfane, NY on FRIDAY from 4-8 PM, where funeral services will be held on SATURDAY at 10:00 AM. Burial will be in Somerset Cemetery, Barker, NY. Memorials to Kenilworth United Church of Christ, 45 Dalton Dr., Buffalo, NY 14223 would be appreciated by the family.
