Lydia Babcock

LOCKPORT — Lydia Babcock, 66, of Pendleton, NY, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013 in Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY, following a lengthy illness.  Born on October 29, 1946 in Baden-Baden, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Maria (Czaus) Milosevic.

Mrs. Babcock came to the United States as a child with her family and attended schools in Tonawanda, NY. On November 12, 1967, Lydia married George E. Babcock. He predeceased her on November 25, 2008. She was employed by Ultra Tool & Plastics, Inc. in Amherst, NY, but was primarily a homemaker. Mrs. Babcock was a member of the Christian Faith Chapel.

Mrs. Babcock is survived by two children, George (Ashley Skubis) Babcock of Williamsville, NY and Theresa (Matthew) Ash of Royalton, NY; one granddaughter, Jillian Rose; one sister, Helen (Joe) Lufkin of Tonawanda, NY and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will be present to receive friends on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (297-9007). Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Tuesday, February 19th at 11:00 AM, which will be celebrated in Pendleton Center United Methodist Church, 6864 Campbell Blvd., North Tonawanda, NY, with Rev. Tom Craft officiating. Interment will follow in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
