Donald E. Wilkins

LOCKPORT — One of God's children, Donald E. Wilkins, entered joyfully into Heaven on October 21, 2012. Born November 20, 1934, Donald was the eldest son of the late Darrol and Ethel Wilkins of  Cuba, NY.

Donald retired after 45 years of service from Harrison Radiator in Lockport, NY, where he    received a Humanitarian Award for his quick action that resulted in the avoidance of a near   fatality of a fellow worker. Donald was a long-time member of the Newfane Historical Society, as well as a member in good standing of the Light & Life CPG, current member of Light & Life Free Methodist Church, and Kathleen Historical Society.

Donald was the brother of Steven (Patricia) Wilkins of FL; and  Marylee (Jerry) Gleason of   Obi, NY. Predeceased by his first wife, Janice (Jordan) Wilkins and son, Donald Eugene      Wilkins, Jr.

Donald will forever be in the hearts and memories of his beloved wife of 44 years, Pamela (Podgers) Wilkins and their children, Kevin Wilkins of FL; Lisa (David) Poole of Lockport; Amy (Joseph) Bork of Lockport; and Darrol (Heather) Wilkins of FL. Dearly loved and missed by his 18 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews who will remember him as a Gentle Giant.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate the life of Donald Wilkins on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at 11:00 AM at Central Baptist Church, 701 West State Street, Olean, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to Cornerstone Hospice at cshospice.org for their compassionate care of our father.
