NEWFANE — Sharmon Beth Zehr, of Newfane, formerly of Rochester, NY, entered into rest Saturday, October 13, 2012 in Eastern Niagara Hospital. She was born in Lockport, NY, November 1, 1953, the daughter of Eleanor Lyndaker Zehr and the late Merrill Zehr.

Sharmon was a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY, and later a     graduate of Simmons School of Management in Boston, MA. She worked for Xerox in Rochester, NY, and was a Senior Computer Analyst until her retirement in 2004, after 27 years with Xerox. She moved to Newfane eight years ago from Rochester, NY. Sharmon was chairman of membership for Newfane Business Association. She loved gardening, her cats and was an avid reader.

Sister of Lauren (Glen) Albrecht of New Ulm, MN; Wayne L. (Janet) Zehr, Ernest L. Zehr, Darcy (John) O'Brien, all of Lockport, NY; and the late Gene M. Zehr. Aunt of Jennifer (Jason) Kuester and Lauren and Kevin O'Brien.

Friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2670 Main St., Newfane, NY, TUESDAY 7-9 PM, where funeral services will be held WEDNESDAY at 10:00 AM. Private graveside services will be in Alden Union Cemetery, Alden, NY. Memorials to Newfane Free Library, 2761 Maple Ave., Newfane, NY 14108; or Save-A-Pet, PO Box 1114, Newfane, NY 14108, would be appreciated by the family.
