Shirley Chrzanowski

LOCKPORT —  

Shirley Chrzanowski passed away on October 31, 2012. Born on November 1, 1935 in Lockport, she was the daughter of Francis J. and Mary A. Mahar (Maschino).
Shirley graduated from Mt. St. Joseph earning her Bachelor's Degree in Education and went on to Buffalo State, earning her Master's and did her post graduate work at Niagara University. She taught for 22 years at Emmet Belknap, teaching Seventh Grade Math and 17 years at Kenmore Schools, grades 1-8 in all subjects. She was an active member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Lockport, where worked with the Funeral Brunch Group, the Dale Association, Meals-On-Wheels, and volunteered at the Lockport Hospital Gift Shop. Shirley enjoyed reading and playing cards. She was predeceased by her husband, whom she married in 1980, Edward S. Chrzanowski on May 4, 2010; and brother, John Mahar.
Shirley is survived by her sisters, Sally J. Mahar, Mary M. Gephart; and brother, Edward M. (Lois) Mahar, all of Lockport; aunt of  Charles Mahar, Theresa (Mahar) Dolan, Kathleen Mahar, Michael Mahar, Sally Gephart and Ginessa Mahar.
Relatives and friends may call on Friday, November 2nd from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Donations to Sisters of St. Mary of Namur, SSMN, St. Mary's Center, 241 Lafayette Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14213 would be appreciated by the family.
