MEDINA —
Mariangela Paviglianiti Pellicano passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012, at Orchard Manor in Medina, NY. Born in Reggio Calabria, Italy on May 1, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Antonino and Marianna Martino Paviglianiti. Mariangela immigrated to the United States in 1958. She was a member of St. Joseph's R.C. Church, where she was active with the Society of St. Lucy. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing, singing, gardening and spending time with her family. Mariangela was the wife of the late Domenico Pellicano, who passed away in 1990.
Mariangela was the mother of Antonino (Fortunata) Pellicano, Francesco (Maria) Pellicano, Paul (Lynn) Pellicano, Antoinette (Michael) Molinaro, Marianna Pellicano and the late Vincenzo (Lavinia), Mario, Stefano (late Lydia) and Peter (Emily). Grandmother of Mariangela (Floyd) Tirimbo, Domenico (Caterina) Pellicano, Paolo (Silvana) Pellicano, Mariangela (Craig) Smith, Domenico Pellicano, Carmela (Doug) Haak, Saverio (Suzette) Pellicano, Vincenzo (Maria) Pellicano, Mariangela (James) Knapp, Mario (Sue Wheeler) Pellicano, Stephano Pellicano, Mariangela (Bradley) Eaton, Dominic (Stacy) Pellicano, Mario (Lori) Pellicano, Mariangela (Todd) Housel, Gina(William) Barrett, Rosanna Pellicano, Antoinette (Doug) Reilly, Teresa (Michael) Di Giore, Jennifer (Michael) Piepszny, Nicole Pellicano, Christopher (Rachel) Pellicano, Anthony (Kristen) Molinaro, Rosamaria (Anthony) Panella, Michael (Sarah) Molinaro, Elizabeth (Rob) Pellicano, Dominic Pellicano, Peter Pellicano, Venita Pellicano and Dominic (Michelle) Pellicano. Mariangela is also survived by her 54 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband and siblings, Francesca Falduto, Paolo Paviglianiti and Fortunata Paviglianiti.
Friends may call Wednesday 1 to 4 PM and 6 to 9 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, where prayers will be offered Thursday morning at 11:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 PM in All Saints Parish Oratory, 391 Market Street, Lockport. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Memorials to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Western New York or to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
