LOCKPORT —
Walter A. Robinson, Sr., passed away, suddenly, in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport, on Thursday, February 2, 2012. Born in Discover Bay, Jamaica on August 2, 1921, he was the son of the late Eustis and Ida Myria Robinson. Walter worked at Harrison Radiator from 1958 until 1998, when he retired. Walter, or "Jamaica Jack" as he was called, enjoyed greeting the public and friends at the Lockport Farmers Market, until the fall of 2011, at the young age of 90.
He was predeceased by his wife, Druesilla Robinson, who passed away February 11, 2010; father of Sammie Bell, Jr., Louisiana (Bell) Carroll, Rev. Caleb Bell, Walter A. (Joanne) Robinson, Jr. of Attica, NY, William (Patty) Robinson, Jacqueline (Robinson) Baker-Zacher, James A. Robinson and Patricia Lawrence, all of Lockport, and the late Gwendolyn (Robinson) Wiley and Arlene (Bell) Jenkins. Walter is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Walter was the brother of Ethlyn Redway and Caleb Marshall, both of Discovery Bay, Jamaica, Gwendolyn Green and Alden Robinson, both of Jamaica, and is survived by several nieces and nephews.
