Dr. Vernon G. Rowley, of Newfane, NY, husband of Janice Kneeland Rowley, went to be with his Lord, Wednesday, January 23, 2013 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Newfane, NY.
He was born in the Town of West Barre in Oleans County, January 8, 1922, the son of the late Glenn and Genevieve Phillips Rowley.
Vernon was a US Air Force veteran who served his country from 1942-1944. He received his Doctor of Chiropractic from the National College of Chiropractic in Chicago, IL. He was board certified in Chiropractic Orthopedics. Dr. Vernon had a practice in Lockport for 42 years, retiring in 1993.
Member of Ridgewood Bible Church, he was Chairman of Elders in 1994 and was on the Board of Elders from 1993-1996. He also was a Sunday School teacher and was in the church choir for 35 years. Member of the American Radio Relay League, Lockport Amateur Radio Association and the American Legion Post #873, Newfane, NY.
Surviving are his wife, Janice Kneeland Rowley and he was the uncle of Oliver G. (Billie) Kneeland, Robert Kneeland and the late Paul Kneeland.
Friends may call at the Ridgewood Bible Church, 7073 Ridge Road, Lockport, NY, SATURDAY from 10:00-11:00 AM, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Wrights Corners Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Ridgewood Bible Church, 7073 Ridge Road, Lockport, NY 14094 would be appreciated by the family.
