LOCKPORT —
William E. Peterkin passed away October 24, 2011, under the care of his family and Niagara Hospice. Born November 30, 1929 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of George and Doris (Scofield) Peterkin. William served in the US Army from 1947 to 1949, and also with the National Guard from 1953 to 1973 at the Willow Street Armory. He worked for 39 years and four months at Harrison Radiator, Div. of G.M., where he was a welder, retiring in December 1989. William belonged to Swickers Pool Club, the YMCA, the VFW and the 82nd Air Bourne Division Association, Niagara Frontier Chapter. He enjoyed spending time with family, swimming, traveling and manicuring his yard.
William is survived by his wife, Audrey J. (Moran) Peterkin of Lockport; father of Michael (Christine) Peterkin of Coventry, RI, Bruce (Lourdes) Peterkin of Port Orange, FL, Becky Copley of Brownsmills, Jeffery (Mary Beth) Peterkin of Newfane, and Lynn S. McCluskey of Niagara Falls; grandfather of six and great-grandfather of four; dear friend of Sue Trisch.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service to be held Saturday, May 5, 2012, at 11 AM in Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 75 East Ave., Lockport. Inurnment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery. Donations to Niagara Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
