Arthur L. Hall

LOCKPORT — Arthur L. Hall of Lockport, NY, passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2012 in Newfane Rehab and HCF. Born on January 8, 1922 in Herkimer, NY, he was the son of Bradley and Sophia Booth Hall.

After graduation from Holland Patent High School, Mr. Hall attended Springfield College. A survivor of Iwo Jima, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII serving from 1942 to 1946. He then graduated from Western Reserve College in Cleveland, OH, and spent his career with NYSEG as Superintendent retiring in 1987 after 35 years. He was a member of Covenant United Church of Christ, Lockport Rotary Club and the Speakers Club. He was an avid reader, a craftsman, building his own home and furniture, enjoyed gardening, golfing, playing bridge and was a devoted companion to Sasha, his Siberian Husky.

Surviving is his wife, Jean M. Hall, whom he married in 1987; two sons, Stephen (Nancy) Hall of Florida and Christopher (Katherine) Hall of Texas; and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by his first wife, Jane Williams Hall; and his son, Mark (Marilyn) Hall.

Private funeral services will be held. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, Niagara Hospice or the S.P.C.A.
