LOCKPORT —
Ruth V. Schryver, age 92, passed away, peacefully, at home with her family, after a long illness.
She was born Oct. 13, 1919 in Bear Creek, PA to Roland "Pops" and Sarah Jane (Hughes) Reese. She was one of 16 children. Ruth spent most of her adult life raising her family in Barker, NY.
Ruth was a longtime employee of Fisher Price and Lockport Memorial Hospital. In earlier times Ruth was active in Girl Scouts and an active member of St. Pat's Catholic Church.
She was the beloved wife of previously deceased Gordon Schryver; mother of predeceased Carol Macaluso, Jeanne Schryver and Duane Schryver, and grandmother to predeceased John Carney.
Survived by her daughter, Barbara Carney of Rochester, MI; sister, Olive Schwinger of VA; grandchildren, Janet, Michael, Sean (Amy) Carney, all of Rochester, MI; Michele (Clint Brown) Carney of Chicago, IL; Peter, Paul, Patricia (Schryver) Wolcott and Phillip Schryver, Timothy (Shannon) Macaluso, Lisa (Larry) Kopacz; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Aug. 10th, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 1726 Quaker Rd., Barker, NY. Interment, Hartland Cemetery. Please contact Lisa Kopacz (434-4817) or Patricia Cummings (434-6988) if able to attend.
