Beatrice L. Mayer

LEWISTON — Beatrice L. Mayer, of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2012, in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence, Lewiston, NY.

She was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on June 7, 1919, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Ethel (Bly) Medsger.

Mrs. Mayer was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. She moved to Sanborn in 1940. Mrs. Mayer enjoyed spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and               great- grandchildren.

She was the wife of the late Wilfred E. "Bub" Mayer, who died in November of 2006.

Mrs. Mayer is survived by one daughter, Judith  (Charles) Snelgrove of Sanborn; one son, James Mayer of Berkley, CA; two grandsons, Glenn (Kelly) Snelgrove and Todd Snelgrove; five great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Jonathan, Joshua, Jaret and Jacob; also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Georgia  Dansby.

The family will be present on Wednesday from 7-9 PM, at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM, with the Rev. William D. Lowery, Jr. officiating.  Memorials may be made in her name to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094. Interment at Acacia Park Cemetery, Town of Pendleton, NY.
