David S. Schrecongost

DANVILLE, PA — David S. Schrecongost, age 44, of Moscow and formerly of Lake Ariel, PA and Medina, NY, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Mr. Schrecongost was born February 4, 1968 in Medina, NY, the son of Michael and Judith F. (Mayer) Schrecongost.

David earned his associate's degree from Keystone College, his B.S. from Canisius College in NY, and his master's degree from Frostburg University in MD. He was employed by Meals On Wheels, NEPA in Scranton and was very involved with youth basketball.

He is survived by his parents, Michael and Judith F. (Mayer) Schrecongost of Lake Ariel, PA; sister and brother-in-law, Carrie and Mark Greene of Medina, NY; nieces and nephew, Jessica, Katelyn, Nathan; three aunts, Sally McEleny of Export, PA; Martha Russell of Schwencksville, PA; Barbara Whitlock of Virginia Beach, VA.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, January 26th, from 3 to 5 PM at Teeters' East Chapel, 505 Church St., Hawley. Cremation will be at Lake Region Crematory in Lake Ariel. Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 541 Wyoming Ave., Scranton, PA; or Gift of Life, 401 North 3rd St., Philadelphia, PA 19123.
