Carol Ann Fritz

LOCKPORT —

Carol Ann Fritz passed away on December 6, 2012 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport. Carol was born on October 30, 1933 in Salamanca, NY, the daughter of Wilton and Frances (Dietrich) Spear.
She received her BA degree in education from Brockport State College and taught briefly before she and her husband, Merle G. Fritz, started their family. She also worked for 15 years at Delphi, retiring in 1993. Carol was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, the Queen City Jazz Society, League of Women Voters, served on the PTA Council; she also taught Sunday School at the church; played piano and organ and worked out at the "Y" with her husband, and was the founder of the Piffle Society.
Besides her husband, Merle George Fritz, she was the mother of George E. Fritz of Lockport, Charlotte Ann (Mike) Coyle of Calgary, Canada, Susan Marie (Guy) Smith of Albion, Sandra Jean Fritz of Lockport, and John H. (Tamelia) Fritz of Albany, NY; grandmother of Heather (William) Bauer, Andrew Fritz, Jeanna and Stacy Cammarano, Aryal, Amber and Miranda Smith; great-grandmother of Clare Bauer. Carol was also the sister of the late Alan Spear.
Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, December 8, 2012, from 1-4 PM in Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, NY, where a memorial service will immediately follow at 4 PM.
