Laura A. Sparrer

LOCKPORT —  

Laura A. Sparrer, of Lockport, formerly of Medina, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Strong Memorial Hospital. Laura was born in Kenmore on December 11, 1971, a daughter of Marlene (Biernacki) Skinner and the late George W. Skinner.
She was a graduate of Medina High School, Class of 1990 and Russell Sage College.  Following college, she accepted a position as the Head of the Physical Therapy Department at the McAuley Residence at Kenmore Mercy Hospital. She was currently employed by Amedisys, as a physical therapist, in their home healthcare program. She loved camping with her children, enjoyed cooking and gardening and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Survivors include her three children, Curtis, Elizabeth and Lauren; her mother, Marlene Skinner; her brother, Andrew Skinner; father of her children, John Sparrer; three aunts, Katherine (Richard) Garlock, Patricia (Wallace) Rich, Esther (Skinner) Haines; two uncles, Michael (Christine) Biernacki and Gene Meland; several cousins and many loving friends and co-workers. Besides her father, she was predeceased by her aunt, Jean Meland.
There will be no prior calling hours. The Rev. Joseph Fifagrowicz and the Rev. Daniel J. Fawls will concelebrate her Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 11 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish/St. Mary's Church. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Memorial Fund for Laura Sparrer, c/o Andrew Skinner, 405 Mead Ave., Medina, NY 14103.
