Samuel J. D'Auria

BUFFALO — Samuel J. D'Auria passed away, suddenly,  October 8, 2012 in Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Lockport on April 10, 1936, he was the son of Joseph and Allene (Ray) D'Auria. Sam served in the US Air Force Reserve and was called into active duty for one year, and he worked for 26 years at Harrison Radiator where he was a foreman, retiring in 1990. He also served as Police Commissioner for the City of Lockport under the Mayor Rollin T. Grant. Sam played baseball in his younger days and enjoyed watching football and hockey, enjoyed his friends at LaPort's Restaurant and especially enjoyed being with his family.

Sam is survived by his wife, Mary (Sherriff) D'Auria of Lockport; father of Anthony (Lynn) D'Auria, Thomas D'Auria, Therese (the late James Kendziora) D'Auria and Tonya (Richard) Neumann; grandfather of Katrina (Aaron) Mondragon, Tonya Faye Teague, Alexandra D'Auria, Marnyssa Reed, Tyler D'Auria, Brayden D'Auria, Alexia Neumann and Nalea Neumann; great-grandfather of Aden, Asa and Ava Mondragon; brother of Josephine "Goldie" (late Richard) Lamont; also several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Thursday, October 11th, 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 12th, at 10 AM in All Saints Parish Oratory, 391 Market St., Lockport. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
