John M. Shimshack, of Olcott, NY, entered into rest Monday, April 16, 2012 in Niagara Hospice House. He was born in Lockport, NY, November 10, 1941, the son of the late Albert and Sarah Mullaney Shimshack. John was a veteran of the US Army serving his country from 1965-1967. He was a Marketing Executive for Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY for many years. John was an avid sailor and very active member in the Olcott Yacht Club and Rochester Yacht Club. Member of St. Brendan on the Lake, Olcott Site and was a devout Catholic.
Father of Michael Shimshack of Nashville, TN and Jay Shimshack of New Orleans, LA. Grandfather of Mullaney and Marley Shimshack. Brother of Sallie (the late Gary) Thompson of Wilson, NY, Mary (Peter) Muller of Dundee, NY and Jean (Anthony) McKenna of Olcott, NY. Also survived by his first wife, Marianne Shimshack of Rochester, NY, second wife, Jennifer Shimshack of Hilton Head, SC; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2670 Main St., WEDNESDAY 3-7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated THURSDAY at 11:00 AM at St. Brendan on the Lake (Olcott Site) Main St., Olcott, NY.
