Michael J. Murray

LOCKPORT — Michael J. Murray passed away April 8, 2012.  Born March 8, 1926 in Buffalo, he was the son of Michael J. and Flora (Krumholz) Murray. Michael served in the US Navy from 1944 to 1946. He worked for Niagara Mohawk for 37 years, where he was the safety director. Michael enjoyed aviation, traveling and spending time with his family. Michael was a member of the Akron Flying Club, American Legion and was Chapter Chairman of the Medina Red Cross.

Michael is survived by his wife, Eleanor (Perry) Murray of Lockport; father of Michael T. (Sue) Murray, John D. Murray and Karen (Tim) White; grandfather of Therese (Bob) Downey, Mike      Murray, Sierra Murray, Tahlia (Justin) Craven, John Murray, Jim Honea, Craig White, Amy White and Timothy (Jennifer) White, Jr.; great-grandfather of 11; brother of Edward (Terry) Murray; also several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Wednesday 4-7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery.
