LOCKPORT — Virginia Adeline (Cromwell) Eberhardt passed away on April 5, 2012 in Odd Fellow & Rebekah Health Care Facility after a lengthy battle with Alzheimers. Born on May 1, 1923 in Medina, NY, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Cromwell and Violet (Gibbons) Cromwell Bencene.

Virginia graduated from Medina High School in 1940, Bryant & Stratton Business Institute and attended NCCC. She worked at Western Block for several years and was a member of Lockport United Church of Christ, founding member of NC League of Women Voters and was a life member of National and NYS PTA. Virginia volunteered with Lockport Meals-on-Wheels for 15+ years and also volunteered at Odd Fellows Home. She was married for 64 years to the late Robert E. Eberhardt, who passed away in 2009.

She was the mother of Robert R. Eberhardt, Valerie (Ken) Pettapiece, both of Lockport, Claire (Steven) Giudici of Pattersonville, NY, and the late Eric Eberhardt and Gail Eberhardt; grandma of Kristin (Kevin) Duffy, Susan (Roy) Cicman, James (Robin) Pettapiece, and William Burd; step-grandmother of Alan and Jason Giudici; Boo-boo Grandma to eight great grandchildren: Jack, Sean, Logan, Morgan, Ehren, Landon, Sydney, and Colton. She is also survived by two sisters, Alice Harmer and Della Covert, both of Florida; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM. Flowers gratefully declined.
