George H. "Homer" Foote, of Newfane, NY, husband of the late Josephine Corwin Foote, entered into rest Sunday, April 29, 2012 in Odd Fellow and Rebekah Health Care Facility. He was born in the Town of Somerset, NY, December 11, 1916, the son of the late Harry and Della Jesson Foote. George worked for Grey Hound Bus Lines in Buffalo as a Coach Driver for 30 years, retiring in 1976. His wife, Josephine Foote, died January 26, 2009. He moved to Newfane in 1938 from Barker, NY. Member of First Baptist Church of Newfane. Homer and his wife wintered in Fort Myers, FL for 28 years. He enjoyed salmon fishing, woodchuck hunting, gardening and playing shuffle board.
Father of Lynn Foote of Newfane and David Foote of North Fort Myers, FL. Grandfather of Shari (Jay) Stewart and Michael (Polly) Foote. Great-grandfather of Jacob, Kelsey, Joshua, Jordon Foote and Raymond (Katie) Foote. Brother of Robert (Judy) Foote of Fort Myers, FL and the late Gladys Alvord.
Friends may call at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2670 Main St., Newfane, NY, FRIDAY from 4-8 PM. Funeral services will be held SATURDAY at 11:00 AM in First Baptist Church of Newfane, 6047 East Ave., Newfane, NY 14108. Burial will be in Corwin Cemetery, Newfane, NY. Memorials to First Baptist Church of Newfane, 6047 East Ave., Newfane, NY 14108, would be appreciated by the family.
