BARKER —
Dorothy P. Potter, of Barker, NY, wife of the late Bernard G. Potter, Sr., entered into rest on Saturday, April 28, 2012 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport, NY. She was born in Buffalo, NY, on August 28, 1931, daughter of the late Fredrick and Henrietta Woods Phillips. She married Bernard G. Potter, Sr. in 1950. He died on November 13, 1993.
Dorothy owned and operated Potter Ceramics in Barker for 15 years. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Barker and was very active in church activities, including the food pantry. Dorothy supported and donated to the "Relay for Life" in Barker. She painted and sold Christmas ornaments for cancer research. Dorothy also loved gardening and was a member of Newfane and Barker Senior Citizens.

Potter, Jr. Mother-in-law of Dena Potter of Barker, NY. Grandmother of Shawn Curry, Lauren Wedekind, Scott and Steven Harvey, Derek and Brett Potter. Great-grandmother of Andon, Tytus and Lincoln Wedekind. Sister of Arlene Goetz of Eden, NY, Ron (Judy) Phillips of Holly, NY, Gary (Diane) Phillips of West Seneca, NY and the late Edward and Fredrick Phillips, Betty Groff and Diane Newton. Sister-in-law of June Phillips of Lockport, NY and Robert Newton of Las Vegas, NV. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Faith United Methodist Church, 1449 Quaker Road, Barker, NY, on SATURDAY, May 5, 2012, from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM, where a celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Hartland Central Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorials to Faith United Methodist Church, 1449 Quaker Road, Barker, NY.
