John S. Pouthier

KENMORE — John S. Pouthier passed away March 18, 2013 in Kenmore Mercy Hospital. Born in Buffalo on October 16, 1946, he was the son of Joseph and Marietta Louise (Rutland) Pouthier. John served in the US Air Force from 1965 to 1969. He worked for 32 years as an inspector for Verizon, retiring in 2000. John was a member of the American Legion B. Leo Dolan Post 410, where he was the club steward, VFW 2535, Moose, Elks and Olcott Yacht Club. He enjoyed golfing.

John is survived by his wife, Jean M. (Bewley) Pouthier of Wilson; father of Sean (Jen) Roill of Lake Shore, NY and Shannon (Brian) Roill of Tonawanda; grandfather of Jace and Annaleah; brother of Peter E. Pouthier of Lockport, Mark (Susan) Pouthier of Westfield, Christopher (Sally) Pouthier of East Aurora, MaryJo Brooker of Texas, Nancy (Andy) Anderson of Virginia, and the late Michael Pouthier; also survived by several in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call Wednesday, March 20th from 3-7 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, March 21st at 10 AM in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut St., Lockport. Interment will be in Cold Spring Cemetery. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations to the American Legion Post 410, 42 Niagara St., Lockport, NY 14094; or to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Dr., Lockport, NY 14094, would be appreciated.
