WILSON —
Leonard C. Smith, Sr., passed away peacefully at home on August 7, 2012, at age 77. Cherished husband of 52 years to Claudia (Hansen) Smith; loving father of Leonard (Pam), Christoper (Tracy) and Kelly (Robert) Martin; proud grandfather of Jessica and Amber Smith; Taylor and Blake Smith and Chelsea, Joshua, Nicholas and Cassandra Martin. Also survived by his sister, Nan Bax and many nieces and nephews.
Leonard was a Retired Lieutenant Detective, Chief of the Fire Arson Squad for the Niagara Falls Police Department. He received many awards and commendations for his acts of bravery and investigative skills. After retirement he ran a successful collision shop with his son where he spent some of his happiest days. He enjoyed watching football and spending time with family and friends.
Funeral arrangements will be made at the convenience of the family by Hamilton and Clark Funeral Home, 270 Young Street, Wilson, NY.
