Elmer D. Elliott, Jr., age 80, of Gasport, entered into rest on Thursday, November 29, 2012, at Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport. Born October 23, 1932 in Coral, PA, he was the son of the late Elmer and Mary (Grove) Elliott, Sr.
Elmer had attended school in Homer City, PA. He married Lauraetta Hill December 30, 1955 in Indiana, PA by the Justice of the Peace, Chester Grove. Elmer had worked at Harrison Radiator in Lockport as an Inspector, retiring January 1, 1984 after 30 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Elmer was an avid race car enthusiast and used to race his Silver 17 at Ransomville, Cayuga and Lancaster Speedways. He also enjoyed going to the Daytona 500 in Florida for over 40 years. He had lived in Gasport since 1955; previously of Pennsylvania.
Elmer is survived by his loving wife, Lauraetta Elliott. Step-father of the late David Hill. He is also survived by several brothers, sisters, brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Sherrie-Bream Funeral Home, 4521 Main Street, Gasport, on Monday, December 3, 2012, from 2-4 PM. Services will be held at the funeral home at 4:00 PM, with Reverend Rodney Klinzing officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
