Christopher Rifenbark

LOCKPORT — Christopher Rifenbark passed away on January 17, 2013, to be with his beloved wife (Sis), who passed on in 1989, after 30 years of marriage. He was predeceased by his wife; one daughter and four brothers: Delorn, David, Horace Jr. and Charles.

He is survived by two sons, Mark Allan of San Diego, CA and Christopher II of Niagara Falls; two sisters, Lottie M. Allen of Cobbelskill, NY and Alvana S. Grasso of Montgomery, NY; various nieces and nephews and two special nieces, Mrs. Kathy Hunter of Hindsdale and Mrs. Valery Mosher of Getzville, NY.

Chris was born on September 9, 1927 in Summit, NY. He was the fourth son of Horace W. and Anna May Coons (Rifenbark). Chris was the co-founder of the fire department in Charlotteville, NY. He came to Lockport in 1957 and worked at Heinrich Chevrolet, where he retired in 1997. He also worked as a bartender for many years at the V.F.W., American Legion and Eagles Club. He was a member of all three clubs. He also served in the Army in Korea from 1950 through 1952, gaining the rank of Sergeant.

Burial will be private. Arrangements have been made through Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee Street, Lockport, NY. Burial will take place at Glenwood Cemetery.
