Jane M. Wendt

SANBORN — Jane M. Wendt, age 82, of Sanborn, died Tuesday, April 10, 2012, surrounded by her loving family in Niagara Hospice House in Lockport.

Jane was born April 20, 1929 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Walter I. and Martha E. (James) McCollum. She was a 1946 graduate of Youngstown High School then attended Bryant & Stratton Business School. Jane married Edmund R. Wendt on October 2, 1948. She was employed at Harrison Radiator in Lockport for 30 years, retiring in 1988. Jane was a member of the Ransomville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed collecting stamps, crossword and jigsaw puzzles and crocheting. Most of all she loved being with her family.

 In addition to her husband, Edmund, she is survived by her children, Paul (Robin) Wendt of Lockport, Dan (Shelley) Wendt of Jamestown, NY, and Marleen (Conrad) Janik of Lockport; her grandchildren, Cori Flores, Raymond and Andrew Wendt, Elizabeth Gruber, Edward Wendt, Conrad, Jr. and Christopher Janik and Liza Reinhardt; her great-grandchildren, Joseph Flores, Emily Wendt and Amanda Clarkson; two sisters, Ramona (late Kenneth) Carter of Youngstown and Lorna (Ronald) Allen of Ransomville; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Leon, Lawrence (Priscilla), Robert (Loanne) and William (Sonja) McCollum; and a sister, Linda Decker.

Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville on Friday from 6-8 PM and at the Ransomville United Methodist Church on Saturday, April 14, from 10 to 11 AM. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM in the church with the Rev. Matthew Worley officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Cemetery, Pekin. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ransomville United Methodist Church, P.O. 250, Ransomville, NY 14131.
