Shirley E. Duvall

LOCKPORT —  

Shirley E. Duvall of Lockport, NY, on Tuesday March 19, 2013 climbed Jacob's ladder to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Born on April 15, 1928 in North Tonawanda, NY, she was the daughter of Claude R. and Evelyn Ralph Brayley.
Shirley was a member of First English Lutheran Church since 1960 where she taught Sunday school for 20 years and was active with Adult Fellowship, Altar Guild and Choir. A member of the O.E.S. for 53 years, she was past Grand Chaplin of Angelus Chapter 559 in 1999 and Matron of Hartland Chapter 595 and Johnson Creek in 1962 and 1964. She enjoyed music, gardening, art, crocheting and embroidery.
Predeceased by her husbands, George C. Groff and Orrin E. Duvall; and a daughter, Judith Carol Groff, Shirley is survived by her son, Joseph C. Groff of Lockport; sisters, Claudette (Gordon) Moran of Lockport and Oriette Bonhan of California; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Thursday from 7-9 PM and on Friday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at LANGE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 186 East Ave., Lockport, NY. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM from First English Lutheran Church, 185 Locust St., Lockport, NY. Interment in Cold Spring Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the church, American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
