LOCKPORT —
Leonard "Russ" Dixon, of Lockport, husband of the late Alice Dixon entered into rest on Monday, July 9, 2012 at Waterfront Health Care Center in Buffalo, NY. Russ was born on August 22, 1925 in Waterbury, CT, son of the late Herbert and Helen Dixon, Sr.
A veteran of World War II, Russ served 28 years in the U.S. Army, retiring as a Major. He worked as an underwriter for Amica Insurance for 15 years. Russ was Master of Newfane Masonic Lodge and Red Jacket Lodge in Lockport. He enjoyed traveling in his motor home, reading, listening to music and spending time with his family.
Father of Scott (Colleen) Dixon of Newfane. Brother of Herbert (Pearl) Dixon, Jr. of Wilson and Donald Dixon of Newfane. Grandfather of Mary, Laura, and Grace Dixon. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
No prior visitation. There will be a graveside service with full military honors in Arlington National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
