Rita Mary DeNeau

LOCKPORT —

Rita Mary DeNeau, 76, of Lockport, passed away on November 8, 2012, at Niagara Hospice House, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Rita is survived by her devoted husband, Raymond DeNeau; and her daughters, Suzanne DeNeau and Jennifer DeNeau. She was the beloved grandmother of Vincent Schad and Emma Schad. She is also survived by her sister, Elizabeth (Robert) Bumbacher. She will be missed by her many relatives and friends.
Rita was the daughter of the late Francis and Emma (Bosseler) Kersch of North Java, NY. She was a 1955 graduate of Attica High School and worked at Roswell Park Cancer Institute prior to her marriage. She raised her family in Newfane and resided in Lockport for the past 13 years. Rita will be remembered for her kindness to friends and strangers alike. Her happiest moments were those spent with her family.
A memorial service will be held at 10 AM on Monday, November 12, 2012, at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 168 Chestnut Street, Lockport, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Rita's name be made to Niagara Hospice House, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094-1231.
