Margerete D. Sherman passed away on April 3, 2012, under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born on February 20, 1945 in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of Walter and Mary (Jones) Peterson. Margerete enjoyed spending time with her family and chatting with friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Gerald Sherman, on December 20, 2004.
Margerete is survived by her children, Terry (Deborah) Pinkerton of Alabama, NY, Tammy (Scott) Virgin of Niagara Falls and the late Michelle Pinkerton; step-mother of Deena Mertz and Darla Christensen; grandmother of seven and great-grandmother of five; sister of Walter, Connor, Gern Peterson, Lila Laughinghouse and the late Peter, Thomas, David, and Lydia Peterson; dear friend of Dottie of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM in Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM. Interment will be in Acacia Park Cemetery. Donations to Niagara Hospice would be appreciated by the family.
