Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — The theft of an iPod Touch on Elmwood Avenue on Sunday afternoon led to a stabbing and to the arrest on Monday at police headquarters.
Johnny Q. Russell, 18, 19 John Court, Apt. 2 was charged with second-degree assault, first-degree robbery, third-degree robbery, third-degree menacing and petit larceny.
Tthe police were called to Elmwood Avenue to assist a rescue of a male that had been stabbed. According to the report, a Strauss Street teenager was meeting with friends to play basketball in the park and saw Russell sitting on an Elmwood Street porch. Russell asked for the iPod and then told the victim he would not give it back.
The victim tried to grab his portable media player and the pair struggled. Russell reached in his pocket and threatened the victim with mace, the report said.
A third teen, who lives on High Street, arrived and to try to assist the victim. There was a struggle and Russell pulled out a knife. The victim was stabbed in the thigh and the stomach and went to a
neighboring house.
Police found the victim bleeding profusely. He was treated by the Lockport Fire Department and taken to Erie County Medical Center.
The victim was reluctant to talk to police on Sunday, but a report was made Monday and Russell was arrested at 1 Locks Plaza.
