CITY OF LOCKPORT: Police officers honored for hard work in protecting city
Sixteen police officers were honored for commitment to protecting Lockport, as the department held its annual award banquet Friday.
Police Chief Larry Eggert handed out the awards at the event at the Cornell Cooperative Extension on Lake Avenue.
“I had my chance in the past, now it’s my time to give the awards,” Eggert said.
Among the winners were officers Aaron Belling, Tricia Denny, Eric Herrington, Henry Nevins, Adam Piedmont, Luke Giansante, Heather Glenn, Toby Trowbridge and Marshall Belling; Capt. Jeffrey Brodsky; lieutenants Doug Haak, Dave Barrancotta and Brian Wentland; and detectives Kevin Schrader, Aric Morgan and Kevin Newman.
Eggert said this is the seventh annual ceremony.
As the night drew to a close, Niagara County Sheriff James Voutour gave a speech praising the department.
“Lockport police should be very proud of what they accomplished,” Voutour said.
John Siracuse was the entertainment for the night. Eggert said Siracuse is a Fredonia native and currently a writer for the “Jay Leno Show.”
