HARTLAND — An 11- year-old by who was hit by a car Tuesday at Chestnut Ridge and Cottage roads is now in stable condition at Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Buffalo.
State police said Wednesday that the boy, whose name was not released, was upgraded to stable from critical condition.
The boy was reportedly riding his bike south on Cottage Road when he attempted to cross over Chestnut Ridge Road and was struck by a Nissan Maxima driven by Karita Cumberland, 19, of Gasport. Cumberland was not injured, according to reports.
Witnesses reportedly said the child was bleeding from the head and was lying on the ground, not moving.
Crews from Terry’s Corners, City of Lockport and Tri-Town fire companies responded to the scene.
State police said the boy was taken by Mercy Flight to Women and Children’s Hospital.
