NEWFANE — A Lockport-Olcott Road building was evacuated briefly Wednesday after a gas main reportedly broke.
Sheriff’s deputies received a 911 call at 5:06 p.m. reporting workers from Lamparelli Construction were remodeling a building at 2555 Lockport-Olcott Road when a wall fell onto the gas main, creating a gas leak.
The building was evacuated, the report said.
Crews from the Miller Hose Volunteer Fire Co., responded. NYSEG Supervisor Gary Licinio responded to the scene and was able to shut the gas off at the gas main.
No injuries were reported.
