Lockport Union-Sun & Journal — Six non-profits benefitted from some free advertising and marketing from a Lockport based agency.
J. Fitzgerald Group announced Tuesday the successful completion of its fifth annual Western New York area Createathon. The organizations were: Institute on Aging Serving the San Francisco Bay Area, Kids Escaping Drugs, Market Street Art Center, United Way of Greater Niagara, WNY Challenger Sports League and Wheels With Wings.
J. Fitzgerald Group invited local charities to apply to receive creative marketing and communications assistance. Each application was evaluated and then selected for inclusion based on audience reach, the ability of Createathon services to make an impact on the non-profit organization and opportunities to help groups that are currently under-funded. Charities could request brochures, logos, direct mailers, posters, radio spots, print ads and so on.
In the end, the 2012 Createathon completed 21 projects for the six not-for-profit organizations. All in just 24 hours.
Just before the event, J. Fitzgerald met with each non-profit to discuss the communication tools they need most. Once completed, all work was presented to the organizations. The charities now fully own the donated work and can use it as they see fit.
Each organization receiving donated services is a federally-designated 501(c)(3) charity. Non-profit organizations receiving donated services during past Createathon events were not eligible in 2012.
J. Fitzgerald plans to continue to make Createathon an annual event. Application details will be announced in the future for 2013.
Since 2008, J. Fitzgerald’s Western New York area Createathon has completed 63 projects benefitting 20 different charitable organizations.
