Longtime “Dialog” host Scott Leffler was let go from WLVL-AM on Wednesday.
Leffler, who was primarily the full-time production director for the Lockport-based radio station, is better known for hosting “Dialog,” a local public affairs talk show with audience participation, weekday mornings for the past 6 1/2 years.
Leffler said he doesn’t know why his employment with WLVL was terminated. The development was unexpected, he added.
“The station decided to go in a different direction, I guess,” Leffler said. “It’s an amicable departure, but it was the station’s decision, not mine.”
Station owner Dick Greene did not return requests for comment Monday.
Leffler also hosted a daily talk show on Buffalo-based WECK-AM, another Greene-owned station, until about three months ago. He’s worked in local media for more than a decade and said he’ll keep pursuing that work.
“Hopefully, I’ll land on my feet. If I land on my head, it’s hollow, so it probably won’t hurt,” he joked.
